Where it all began....

Flowers have always been my passion. Growing up my Grandma and my Mom had the most beautiful gardens around. They worked tirelessly planting, grooming and maintaining their gardens. I would take a book and sit amongst the flowers and get lost in my own little world. I was happy and content surrounded by beautiful blooms and all of these years later I feel exactly the same.
Growing up I wanted to be a teacher but once I did a Co-op program within a Flower Shop my mind was made up and I never looked back. I worked at that little Flower Shop in Brighton for 18 years. At that point I decided to get my certification in Floral Design. I graduated Valedictorian of that class and eventually moved on to another Floral Shop specializing in Weddings and Events. Here I found my sweet spot. I could let my creativity flow, I grew tremendously and fell in love with wedding, special event and unique florals.
I took extra courses in Wedding and Sympathy florals, traveled out of town for workshops at any chance and eventually jumped in feet first and headed to England to meet and learn from an amazing Floral Designer I had been following for a very long time. I learned new techniques, design styles and so much more than I had ever dreamed of. This experience proved to be a huge stepping stone in my career. From that moment on my future in flowers seemed brighter than ever…
Fast Forward to April 3rd 2018, my dream became a reality! I opened my little store in beautiful downtown Trenton. Yes, my very own Flower Shop… Blush Floral by Carrie Parkhurst. My reminder of being happy and content surrounded by flowers just like when I was a little girl in the garden at my childhood home.   
I invite you to come visit my little store, to allow me to create something for you, to treat yourself or someone special to flowers, a single bloom, a bouquet…something that will make you smile. You deserve it, in fact you deserve flowers so beautiful they’ll make you BLUSH!
